About New Discovery Montessori Center
Our History
What started off in 2006, as a small in-home preschool with only 12 students, has grown into a three classroom learning center in the Lakewood neighborhood of Mandan, ND. We are honored to follow the Montessori method of teaching and are proud of the success of our students. Throughout the years we have been lucky to educate so many wonderful students and build long lasting relationships with their families. We look forward to visiting with you about the opportunities available for your child.

Her teachers were very welcoming, and she begged to go everyday. By the time my 2nd daughter would be joining her, she was so excited that she fit right in. The teachers, Sara and Lacie, worked with me on what I felt was right for the two of them so they could find independence. We split the girls up between two classes, moving my older daughter with the older kids, which gave her the ability to work on reading. Even with Covid interrupting her learning she still started kindergarten knowing how to read. My younger daughter followed suit and quickly moved up with the older kids, loving to work on reading and writing. Again, she started kindergarten being able to read, which was much farther than many kids from other daycares/preschools. I always felt the girls were safe and well taken care of, and had an easy time working with Sarah and Lacey on pickup times, being that my schedule changed in the afternoon. I highly recommend their school, and love the new upgrades to the playground. "

After we landed here, there was no looking for something better because it wasn’t needed (I doubt I could have found any better if I even tried)! All three are in high school now and they do very well, in part because they received such a good foundation at this preschool. I have recommended them to many, many people over the years and each one has thanked me because they loved it as much as I did. My children weren’t just a number but truly were treated like family. Teachers from back then are still there (that tells you a lot about them as a business as well) and if we run into the owner or teachers, they still remember us to this day and stop us to say hi & check in.
